International Theme Park Services, Inc. (“ITPS”) portfolio of projects is not only highly diverse, including small, medium, and large entertainment projects, but also highly universal, with projects in the U.S., China, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, France, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Greece, Lebanon, Argentina, Canada, Peru, Barbados, Bermuda, Germany, Cyprus, Canary Islands, Pakistan, Singapore, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and many more countries.  Additionally, the ITPS scope of services performed among these diverse projects is also varied, and includes services from feasibility analyses, to design, to conceptual planning, to pre-opening operations planning, to on-site management, to ongoing operational auditing, or, in many cases, a combination of services. 

As has been the case in our company’s 25-year history, our current portfolio remains diverse.  We are currently working in various stages of project development or providing ongoing services for projects in Bermuda, Mexico, the Philippines, Jamaica, Colombia, Japan, Korea, China, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, and the U.S.

Brief Description of the Relationship

ITPS was retained to be Lotte World’s operational planner.  This included concept and design assistance, construction overseer, pre-opening operations planning, and placement of three on-site executives in the areas of maintenance and safety, entertainment, and operations.  ITPS also conducted two separate US-based Flexible Modular Training Programs at major U.S. themed facilities for key Lotte World management positions.

Brief Description of the Facility

Lotte World is Seoul’s largest theme park, consisting of a major indoor/outdoor theme park complex, with a contiguous retail shopping mall, two department stores, a hotel, and much more.  The facility features a full-scale ice skating rink, and a variety of other entertainment venues and attractions.  Opened in the summer of 1989, Lotte World is currently the world’s largest entertainment complex with over 6.5 million square feet.  The project’s total cost was $1.6 billion USD.

Brief Description of the Relationship

Three-year initial management agreement; placement of one executive level position as General Manager of the facility; retained for an additional three years, followed by on-site services for two additional years

Brief Description of the Facility

Beijing Amusement Park is a traditional amusement park which first opened in 1987 as a Sino-Japanese joint venture.  The park experienced severe financial shortfalls in its first two operating years.  ITPS contracted with Kumagai Gumi Co., Ltd (the major park investor) to consult with Price Waterhouse in order to provide an analysis and recommendations to halt the erosion of profits.  A short-term plan and a long-term action plan were developed by ITPS.  To help meet park goals, ITPS hired and placed an experienced General Manager for a period of eight years to ensure that the plans achieved the greatest possible results.  As a result, revenues, in-park spending, in-park length of stay, and profits all increased.

Brief Description of the Relationship

Amtrust Holdings, project developer, retained ITPS to provide all pre-opening operations planning and ongoing management.  ITPS recruited, hired, trained, and placed on-site a Vice President of Maintenance and Safety for a period of three years.  This provided ITPS the ability to provide both construction liaison and to oversee the day-to-day implementation of all maintenance and safety programs.  Ongoing services continue with ITPS providing annual safety and maintenance audits.

Brief Description of the Facility

Enchanted Kingdom, the Philippines’ first and only world-class theme park built by Amtrust Holdings.  Setting the standard in theme park facilities in the Philippines, this 16-hectare park boasts of world-class rides and attractions. Seven meticulously themed zones indulge guests in an array of exciting rides, shows, concerts, games, play areas, themed restaurants and souvenir shops that remain unsurpassed in the region.

Brief Description of the Relationship

ITPS was retained by the owners and operators of Playcenter in Sao Paulo, Brazil to conduct a feasibility analysis with regard to moving portions of the existing Playcenter amusement park to a new location outside the city of Sao Paulo.  As the project’s move came to fruition, ITPS provided all design and master planning services, including concept design, site planning, land usage, and design development.  ITPS also directed the selection process for all attractions, including procurement, installation, and commissioning.  For this, ITPS hired and placed on-site a Vice President of Operations.

Brief Description of the Facility

A state-of-the-art theme park, Hopi Hari includes Latin America’s first wooden roller coaster, a shuttle loop coaster, a river rapids ride, a waterpark, hotels, restaurants, and retail shopping.  The $220 million USD project features five distinct themed areas, including International Street, The Wild West, and The Lost Continent, as well as the South American home of the Sesame Street characters.

Brief Description of the Relationship

ITPS was retained to provide an on-site evaluation of the operation, followed by recommendations that we believed would lead to improved results.  Following this, ITPS was retained to provide a General Manager on-site for a period of two years.

Brief Description of the Facility

A 35 acre waterpark developed by Edinburg Industrial Development Corporation (“IDC”) of Edinburg, Texas.  The park features two (2) wave pools, speed slides, tube slides, lazy river, children’s activity area, food & beverage and merchandise shops.

Newport Aquarium

Brief Description of the Relationship

ITPS was initially contracted to perform a site selection analysis for the proposed aquarium.  Once the site was chosen and procured, ITPS was engaged for a variety of services, including design review, executive search, sponsorship program development, and pre-opening operations planning.  As such, we provided on-site training programs and placed a General Manager on-site for the duration of our contract.  As a result, ITPS was able to oversee one of the most successful aquarium openings in the world, with a 48% pre-tax profit margin our first year on-site.

Brief Description of the Facility

The state-of-the-art Newport Aquarium opened in May 1999.  It is a cornerstone of the Newport on the Levee entertainment complex.  The Aquarium displays over 11,000 creatures of 600 species in 66 exhibits.  Themed areas include Rivers of the World; The Shore Gallery; The Bizarre and the Beautiful; The Dangerous and Deadly; and the River Bank.  Visitors follow a one-way path past numerous exhibits in a unique acrylic tunnel wherein creatures of the sea can be viewed from all sides. Encompassed within 100,000 square feet, the Newport Aquarium cost approximately $40 million to develop and boasts not only see-through floors, but also a 360,000-gallon, open-air shark tank, and 200 feet of seamless underwater tunnels that provide a 360-degree view.
