DOLLYWOOD, DOLLYWOOD’S SPLASH COUNTRY ANNOUCE ANNUAL JOB FAIRS

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.—The Dollywood Company, the Smokies’ largest seasonal employer, has scheduled three Job Fairs—Feb. 23, March 29 and May 3. Representatives from Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country will be available to discuss open positions at both parks for the 2008 season.

More than 300 seasonal positions at Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country are available. The majority of available positions at Dollywood are for ride, parking and game attendants and food service workers including cooks and bus persons. Dollywood’s Splash Country has available lifeguard positions, as well as, food service and merchandise positions.

The March 29 and May 3 Job Fairs are open to applicants as young as 14 who may apply for positions in Dollywood’s foods department. In addition, 15 year-olds may apply for positions in the games department.

“After an incredible 2007 season at Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country, we are especially excited about recruiting a great team of employees to join our family and help us take care of our guests this season,” said Jay McNeill, Dollywood Human Resources Director.

Appointments for interviews are required and may be scheduled during the week prior to each Job Fair by calling the Dollywood Job Hotline at (865) HAVE FUN or (865) 428-3386, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kings Island to Host Job Fairs February 16-17

More than 4,000 seasonal associates needed for 2008 operating season

KINGS ISLAND, Ohio – A diverse range of job opportunities are available at Kings Island, as the park announced today plans to hire more than 4,000 seasonal associates for the 2008 operating season, which begins April 20. In addition to international and regional recruiting, Kings Island will host job fairs Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the park, located at 6300 Kings Island Drive.

Associates are needed in all areas of park operation, including admissions, cash control, entertainment, food and beverage, games, guest relations, merchandise, sales and service, security and warehouse. C’mon, Mates … Australian Adventure Returns March 14 at the Zoo

Tired of the winter chill? Take a journey through the land Down Under at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Australian Adventure, opening for its ninth season at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14.

See all your favorite Aussie animal friends, including kangaroos, wallabies, cockatoos, kookaburras and, of course, koalas.

Stroll through the Australian Outback and check out GumLeaf Hideout, home of the tree kangaroos and koalas, which perch on live eucalyptus trees. Travel the path of Wallaby Walkabout and get close to roaming kangaroos and wallabies.

Hop aboard the Boomerang Express to tour Australian Adventure’s 8-acres, home to a 55-foot Yagga tree for children to climb and a virtual Aussie playground complete with a tree house, snake-like slide and suspended walking bridge.

From Saturday, May 24 to Labor Day, enjoy camel rides and feed nectar to colorful parrots at the Lorikeet Aviary (for a small fee). Also throughout the summer, spend time at Australian Adventure’s Ballarat Theatre, featuring daily puppet shows and live animal shows.

Meet “Foster,” the Zoo’s hand-raised Parma wallaby joey, as he makes his public “stage” debut in his new digs Down Under. The live animal show will also feature a bearded dragon, a Children’s python, rabbits, a marine toad and a kookaburra (known for its laugh).

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo summer admission rates take effect on March 14, and remain until October 31, making admission to the Zoo and The RainForest just $10 for adults ages 12 and older and $6 for juniors ages 2 to 11. Children under 2 and Zoo members always receive free admission. Also, admission to the Zoo is free on Mondays to residents of Cuyahoga County and Hinckley Township (proof of residency required). Parking at the Zoo is always free.

Northeast Ohio’s most popular year-round attraction, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Located at 3900 Wildlife Way, the Zoo is easily accessible from Interstates 71, 77, 90 and 480.
