Disney does it again! The world's most popular theme parks revealed  Over 115 million people visited a Disney theme park in 2007, according to a definitive new report (download it here), placing the operator above all other international amusement park/attraction chains.

Six Flags revises policy for disabled park patrons  ARLINGTON -- Six Flags theme parks in Arlington and across the nation have implemented a two-stage policy to accommodate patrons with disabilities. Disabled patrons who can wait in ride lines will be allowed to make an appointment for each ride and receive a yellow pass. Patrons who are unable to wait will receive a blue pass that allows them to move to the front of a line.

Riding on a wooden rollercoaster VIDEO  Mar 14 - A theme park in South Korea unveils a wooden rollercoaster with the world's largest drop. South Korea's largest and tallest rollercoaster, 'T-express' which has been labelled as the most extreme ride in the country has opened for business.

Dragon catches fire at Enchanted Forest  A small fire broke out this afternoon at Enchanted Forest, an amusement park in Howard County that closed in the 1980s.

Woman files suit over injury on ride at park  An Oklahoma woman sued Six Flags Over Texas this week related to injuries she received during a ride accident that injured eight others in 2006. In the lawsuit, Trista Price accuses Six Flags of being negligent in operating and maintaining the Texas Tornado ride, which spins riders in a wide circle on swinglike chairs. The suit also says the maker of the ride, Chance Rides Manufacturing, which is also a defendant in the suit, sold the Arlington theme park a "defective and unreasonably dangerous" ride.

HRP Myrtle Beach Holdings, LLC Will Issue Its Annual Report, Including Annual Consolidated Financial Information, on March 28, 2008  MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - (Business Wire) HRP Myrtle Beach Holdings, LLC ("HRP") announced today that it will post its annual report for the year ended December 31, 2007 on the company website (http://www.hrpusa.com) on March 28, 2008. The annual report will be furnished pursuant to the Indentures governing the Floating Rate Senior Secured Notes due 2012 (the "Senior Notes"), the 12 1/2% Junior Secured Notes due 2013 (the "Junior Notes") and the 14 1/2% Senior Pay-In-Kind Notes due 2014 (the "PIK Notes") and the Equity Participation Agreement relating to the Class B shares of Common Stock of HRP PIK Corp. Waterpark News

City water park hasn't made a profit since opening two years ago  Although it was expected, the city’s new water park hasn’t made any profits for the last two years. The Pollock Community Water Park, which opened in 2006, had a deficit of $62,477.93 for the 2007 summer at least partly because of a 17 percent decrease in attendance from the year before.

Great Lakes Aquarium boosts entrance fee  The Great Lakes Aquarium will raise its admission fees for the first time since 2005. The new rates are $14.50 for adults, $11.50 for seniors, $8.50 for kids ages 3-16, and free for infants.

Girl Falls Over Fence at St. Louis Zoo  ST. LOUIS (AP) — A young girl fell over a wooden fence that borders a sun bear exhibit at the St. Louis Zoo, suffering a cut on her head but not coming near the animals. Neither of the two sun bears at the zoo could have come in contact with the girl because other barriers surround their exhibit: A roughly 8-foot-deep moat, a low-current electric wire and a stone wall separate the bears from the grassy area where the child fell, zoo spokesman Wyndel Hill said Thursday.

Pyramid sell-off raises suspicions With progress seemingly being made with The Pyramid, why should Shelby County cash out now?   Seemingly out of the clear blue sky, county commissioners debated a proposal Wednesday to sell their interests in The Pyramid, Mid-South Coliseum and the Liberty Bowl to Memphis city government for $4.3 million.
