The company is in the early planning stages of constructing a new building at Cedar Point to house its corporate employees. Since the acquisition of Paramount Parks in 2006, the company has created about 20 new corporate positions. Thrillseekers hope to turn passion into job The Theme Park Engineering Group at Ohio State hopes to turn this passion for theme parks into a profession. Group members said one of the greatest attractions of the organization and the industry is the potential for their designs to end up as actual roller coasters. Tokyo Disneyland Cancels Parades TOKYO (AP) — Tokyo Disneyland canceled its popular parades for the first time in its 25-year history Wednesday after a 660-pound steel pillar adorned with colorful planets tumbled from a Buzz Lightyear float. COUNTY MUSIC LEGEND WILLIE NELSON KICKS OFF SILVER SPRINGS’ 2008 CONCERT SERIES ON SATURDAY, JAN. 19 SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. (Jan. 3, 2008) … Grammy winner and country music superstar Willie Nelson is “On The Road Again” and coming to Silver Springs to perform “Whiskey River,” “My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys” and his many other great hits at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19. All of Silver Springs’ concerts are included in the price of admission, and guests who bring in any Coke product receive $5 off the regular adult daily admission price of $33.99 per person, plus tax (up to six guests). The park’s gates open for concert seating at 9 a.m., free parking and shuttle bus service to Silver Springs from Booster Stadium will begin at 9 a.m., and the opening act at 12 noon will be the Merrill Brothers. Willie Nelson was writing songs at age seven, but his road to stardom didn’t begin until he started writing songs for other Nashville artists during the ‘60s. Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” and Ray Price’s “Night Life” are just a few of Willie Nelson’s hits. At that time, the Nashville Sound dominated the music scene, so Willie Nelson returned to Texas where he was born and helped establish the "Outlaw" attitude in country music. Willie Nelson’s 1975 release of the hit album “Red Headed Stranger” made him a superstar. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1993, established himself as a film actor with appearances in movies including “Electric Horseman” and “Barbarosa,” and his Farm Aid concerts has raised more than $12 million to assist American farmers. On Saturday, Jan. 19, fans will enjoy hearing Willie Nelson sing his biggest hits including “Always On My Mind” and “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain.” Guests are invited to bring their own folding chairs to this outdoor concert. Except for bottled water, no outside drinks, food or coolers may be brought into Silver Springs. Presented by Gause & Son Jewelers, Silver Springs’ 2008 Concert Series will continue in the weeks ahead with Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on Jan. 26, Brenda Lee on Feb. 2, Wayne Newton on Feb. 9, America on Feb. 16 and Tony Orlando on Feb. 23.
