category. Amusement/Theme Park News Group purchases Indiana Beach QUEENSBURY, New York - Morgan RV Resorts today announced the acquisition of Indiana Beach Amusement Resort in Monticello. The purchase includes the northwest Indiana resort's entire operations including the Indiana Beach Boardwalk and Funway amusement park and water park, Indiana Beach Camp Resort, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort at Indiana Beach, The Beach House Inn hotel and motel, Lakeview Penthouse Suites, cottages at The Beach Club Resort and Hoosier Pointe, the Shafer Queen paddle wheel boat, The Fun Zone, a lakefront sandy beach, the Skyroom Restaurant and multiple dining and retail operations. The resort complex will open for the 2008 season on May 3. Plan for Eloy music theme park may include Fender Fender, the Scottsdale-based guitar maker, intends to be part of the effort to create a rock-and-roll theme park in Pinal County, although officials could not say Tuesday precisely what the company's role would be. "We are going to be involved, and in what capacity still needs to be resolved," said Clay Lyons, business-affairs manager for Fender. "We're still getting some details ironed out." Busch Gardens announces 2008 special events Third Day, Natalie Grant and Peter Frampton are a few of the performers who are scheduled to play at Busch Gardens Europe this season, park organizers announced today. Investors drawn to land near Hard Rock The Hard Rock Park hasn't opened yet, but it's already drawing a crowd of investors and developers aiming to stake claim on land surrounding the park. A few developers are looking to buy an $8 million tract south of the park to build hotels or multifamily housing. Other buyers have scooped up homes in nearby neighborhoods such as Azalea Lakes, Cimerron and Hunters Ridge. Destin waterpark undergoing expansion By the time Big Kahuna’s opens for summer, the first step in its planned expansion will be complete, General Manager Bob Cordier says. The Destin waterpark filed last year for a permit to expand and renovate the park. Cordier told The Log that the city has approved the expansion and work on a new ride began two weeks ago. Lodge builds indoor water park for guests only IN Tucked in among the rolling hills of Brown County State Park, the Abe Martin Lodge has been welcoming guests for more than 70 years. Over that time, the lodge has grown - adding an annex building that nearly tripled its capacity. There's a restaurant, a pair of lobbies for relaxation and verandas that overlook scenic views of the park. This spring, Abe Martin Lodge will have one more amenity to offer its guests. Before Memorial Day, reports Gary Miller, the lodge will open a 12,000-square-foot indoor water park. Couple sues local water park company PORT CLINTON – A Fairlawn woman and her husband sued a Danbury Township water park last week after the woman was hurt in a go-kart accident there in 2006. Mary Margaret and William Gillespie are asking for more than $25,000 in damages from Monsoon Lagoon, which is based in Las Vegas, according to the lawsuit filed in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court. The park itself is located on South Danbury Road. Aquarium/Zoo News Zoo to break ground on new bear exhibit Great Bear Wilderness open by summer 2009 Brookfield Zoo says goodbye to an era soon, perhaps as early as this week, when a wrecking ball begins demolishing Ibex Island to make room for a new North American exhibit that will include a state-of-the-art bear exhibit and a new space for the zoo's bison. FEC/LBE/Museum News CEC Entertainment Reports Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year-End Earnings CEC Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:CEC) today announced earnings for the fourth quarter and fiscal year-ended December 30, 2007. Revenues for the fourth quarter of 2007 and fourth quarter of 2006 remained constant at $175.1 million, as growth from new store development was offset by a decline in comparable store sales of 2.7%. Dave & Buster's, Inc. Retains Jefferies & Company to Explore a Possible Sale; Announces Debt Reduction DALLAS, Feb 19, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Dave & Buster's, Inc., a leading operator of high volume entertainment/dining complexes, today announced that it has retained Jefferies & Company, Inc. to assist the company in exploring a possible sale and has reduced debt under its senior credit facility. Parks commission set to unleash The Fury Few details released publicly on new Table Rock attraction The Niagara Parks Commission is keeping a tight lid on details about its upcoming new attraction at Table Rock. At least, that's the marketing strategy so far. The commission has hired St. Catharines-based public relations firm OEB Enterprise to start laying clues about Niagara's Fury, a new high-tech attraction opening this summer. It's part of a $38 million revamp underway at Table Rock. Madame Tussauds to open in Berlin, July 2008 Merlin Entertainments Group, the European-based, leading name in family entertainment, and largest visitor attraction operator in Germany, is set to open a Madame Tussauds attraction in Berlin in July 2008.
