Merchandising Manager - Full- Time Job Opening
Job Summary:
This position
is responsible for the achievement of the Retail Department’s
financial goals, distribution and visual merchandising of
product, assurance that all merchandising efforts support the
Six Flags and licensed brands, day to day operations, staff
development, staffing, and inventory planning and control.
In the addition, the Merchandising Manager will continue
to enhance the brand integrity and image in all locations by
providing the best possible service and product presentation to
satisfy Guest needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Sales and Profitability Growth:

Responsible for maximization of revenue sales, profit margin,
and bottom line results.
·
Assure that all stores are continuously presenting fresh product
mix throughout the season through visual merchandising and POP
changes.
·
Responsible for Inventory level management at Park, inventory
flow, and stock turn.
Planning and Reporting:
·
Develop and present annual budget in conjunction with the
Director of In-Park Services.
·
Analyze performance on business goals and implement plans to
improve results.
·
Operating budget developed, maintained, and re-forecasted in a
timely manner.
·
Review sales, profitability, and stock levels weekly.
Team Management and Development:
·
Demonstrates a high energy, self motivated, strong work ethic,
and positive “can do” attitude.
·
Coaches team regarding long term objectives and maintain focus
on defining expectations.
·
Oversees all HR team functions including hiring, performance
evaluations, and counseling.
·
Ensures an open door policy for communication.
Communication:
·
Communicates Corporate and Park objectives to all direct
reports.
·
Maintain a regular update dialog with Director of In-Park
Services, Corporate Director of Retail, Director of Retail
Systems, Director of Merchandise, and retail staff members.
·
Communicates company beliefs, values, and mantra to reports on
an on-going basis.
Visual Presentation:
·
Ensures all stores maintain the proper appearance standards.
·
Ensures system wide POP program is developed and maintained.
·
Maintains an exciting shopping experience for all Guests.
Organizational Structure:
§
Reports to In-Park Services Director
Skills and Qualifications:
§
2-3 years Retail Management experience, preferably in a Theme
Park environment.
§
A Bachelor degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or
equivalent experience is preferred.
§
Strong leadership and organizational skills and excellent
communication skills, both verbal and written.
§
Strong computer skills with emphasis on all Microsoft Office
programs.
§
Ability to work with financial statements and budgets.
§
Working knowledge of POS and inventory systems, preferably NSB
or similar.
§
Strong visual merchandising skills and techniques.
§
Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and
Holidays.
